What I have done for Kanata South over the years

As one of the few 4-term Councillors in City of Ottawa history, here is a list of accomplishments and projects that I have proudly completed for Kanata South over the years.

Fourth Term of Council (2022-2026)

  • Pathways – Beaufort Park (from Beaufort Dr. to Katimavik Rd), Laurie Crt. to Sheldrake, Laurie Crt. to Castlefrank, Laurie Crt. to Binscarth, Paths in Laura Dubois Park (from Shetland to TCT)

  • Sidewalks- Chimo Dr. (Anik Way to Katimavik), Carbrooke St. Eagleson (from Kincardine to Edgewater), Grassy Plains, Rothesay, New sidewalks on Kakulu, Sidewalk renewals on both sides of Morton Dr., Michael Cowpland Dr.

  • Red light camera installed at Terry Fox and Hazeldean

  • Roads Resurfacing -  Carbrooke St., resurfacing of Equestrian Dr. (from Pommel to Pommel), Eagleson road resurfacing (from Kincardine to Edgewater), Vanstone, Belleview, Marcasite, Pineview, Irwin Gate, Rickey Pl, $1.1 million to resurface McCurdy between Castlefrank Rd. N and Castlefrank Rd. S

  • New PXO’s installed at Caslefrank Rd. at Sheldrake N, Rickey Pl. between McKitrick & McElroy, Rothesay Dr., Grassy Plains Dr.

  • Cope Dr. PXO $130,000 investment– upgrade to Type B- with flashing beacons

  • $300,000 invested in Temporary Traffic Calming

  • Parks – Grassy Plains Park, Shelleright Park, Monticello Park, Expansion to Proudmore- Romina Park (including new Tennis- Pickleball courts, toboggan hill, outdoor fitness area), Bluegrass Park redevelopment (addition of 3 Pickleball courts and new paths and benches, Park renewal at Stonemeadow Park, Playground replacement at Meadowbreeze Park,

  • Have implemented 3- stream garbage/recycling into 6 of our parks with more coming

  • Worked with all levels of govt. to secure $4.5 million investment for upgrades to the Tony Graham Recreation Complex.

  • $520,000 Renewal work at Eva James C.C. including replacement of 4 HVAC systems

  • $910,000 to replace roof at the Glen Cairn C.C.

  • $500,000 expansion to the splash pad at Tony Graham Park

  • Brought in outside sponsorship to construct a permanent outdoor stage at Tony Graham Park for community groups to use.

  • 8 new bus pads, 2 new shelters, accessible bus stop landing pad at Bridgestone and Foxhall Way, transit priority measures incorporated at the intersection of Katimavik Rd. and Terry Fox Dr.

  • Housing - $1.4 million for the Shepherds of Good Hope to provide eight additional supportive housing units in their Hope Living building at 145 Castlefrank Road

  • 230,000 to resurface the parking lot at Fire Station 41
